Why did you choose communication?
I chose Communication because I have a strong interest in broadcasting and sports.

Best memory in the Department of Communication?
I was one of a few students selected to meet with the Journalism Advisory Board last year. I had the opportunity to be a voice for MSU’s Communication department and discussed ways to enhance it. Also, I networked with industry professionals such as reporters from local news stations in Mississippi, a reporter from The Hill in Washington D.C., and a national college football writer from Sports Illustrated!

Advice for incoming communication students?
My advice would be to form meaningful relationships with your professors. They are amazing mentors and will help you be successful!

Best advice you’ve received from a professor?
I don’t have a specific piece of advice, but I will say that Professor Philip Poe is a wise person and if you ever need advice, talk to him!

Favorite class?
Broadcast Capstone (Watch Take 30 News every Friday at 4 pm!!)

If you were singing karaoke, what song would you pick to sing?
I honestly have no idea. But from growing up in church I would say I have a lot of gospel songs memorized so maybe one of them.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It’s not a meal but I would eat French fries for the rest of my life if I could.

What’s the most interesting thing that you’ve read, watched or listened to lately?
I recently rewatched the Hunger Games Series to prepare me for the upcoming movie in November.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with that extra time?
I would be in my room watching YouTube if I had extra time.
