Awards & Honors Dr. Terry Likes wins broadcast awards
The Broadcast Education Association and Mississippi Association of Broadcasters awards have been announced and an MSU faculty member won two honors.
Spotlight Myracle Evans
Myracle Evans, a Memphis, Tenn., native, is a senior communication major with a concentration in broadcast & digital journalism. Evans is involved in IDEAL Women and has been involved in the Residence Hall Association and PRISM.
Spotlight Chris Misun
Chris Misun, a native of Ashland, Wis., joined the faculty of MSU’s Department of Communication in 2016 as a lecturer and then as full-time broadcast instructor 2.5 years ago. Misun received an Associate of Science in film and video production, a Bachelor of Science in entertainment business and a Master of the Arts in new media journalism, all from Full Sail University.
Publications Dr. Larry Strout publishes article on The Conversation
Dr. Larry Strout's article “Don’t Pay Too Much Attention to Guesses about how US Supreme Court will Vote on Abortion Rights – Experts are Often Wrong,” discussing Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, was published in January of 2022 on The Conversation and quickly became one of the top articles on the website.

Flora Dedeaux is a senior communication major with concentrations in broadcast and digital journalism and public relations. From Gulfport, Dedeaux is involved with Bulldog Bash, serving as the public relations coordinator.

Spotlight Chris LoNigro
Chris LoNigro is a senior majoring in communication with concentrations in broadcast and digital journalism and public relations. Hailing from Katy, Texas, LoNigro currently serves as president for the Broadcast Education Association, secretary of The Scene Film Club, attends the Baptist Student Union on campus, and works as the public address announcer for MSU Volleyball, MSU Softball and MSU Tennis. After graduating, Lonigro would love to work as a sports broadcaster or possibly as a media specialist.

Mississippi State University’s student-produced weekly newscast, Take 30 News, is a nominee for a national award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
