Vicki Burnett

Vicki Burnett received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations in 1986. Burnett, a native of Louisville, Miss., currently resides in Starkville, Miss., owning her own company, Burnett Art. Burnett Art specializes in painting cowbells as well as some traditional paintings as well. The origins of her painting root back to 1983, when Burnett painted her first cowbell.

Lynn Henderson Oldshue

Lynn Henderson Oldshue received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations in 1991 from Mississippi State University and then attended the University of Alabama and earned a master’s in Marketing. The Yazoo City, Miss. native now resides in Fairhope, Ala., serving as a journalist for Lagniappe, a newspaper in Mobile, Ala., as their Gulf Cost Correspondent for Alabama Public Radio.

William Rice Chandler received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations in 1998 from Mississippi State University. The Starkville, Miss., native now resides in Guntown, Miss., serving as Territory Manager with Oyster Point Pharmaceuticals. Chandler’s job territory covers northwest Miss., West Tenn., and northeast Ark.

Jordan Smith

Chelsea, Ala., native Jordan Smith is a senior communication major concentrating in public relations and minoring in business administration. In 2021, Smith served as director of New Maroon Camp, a campus organization that seeks to help freshmen acclimate to Mississippi State, learn traditions and find their place at MSU.

Dr. Melody. Fisher publishes article in Family and Community Health

Dr. Melody Fisher, an associate professor in public relations, recently published The study "Assessing Readiness for Barbershop-Based HIV Prevention Programs Among Rural African American Barbershop Patrons" in Family and Community Health. The study aimed to quantitatively assess the readiness of rural African American men to participate in a barbershop-based HIV prevention program.

Emmie Perkins

Emmie Perkins is a junior majoring in communication with a concentration in public relations and minoring in music. A native of Hattiesburg, Perkins is a mentor for ACCESS, a Road Runner, a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Concert Choir Schola Cantorum and PRSSA.

John Arledge received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations in 1990 from Mississippi State University. A native of Gautier, Miss., Arledge currently resides in Brandon, Miss., and works as Vice President of Public Affairs at Entergy in Jackson, Miss.
