Josh Foreman and co-author present during "Literature at Lunch" at the Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration

Josh Foreman, an instructor in print & digital journalism, and his co-author, Ryan Starrett, spoke during "Literature at Lunch" at the Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration. They told the story of John Blommart, who was a retired Royal Navy captain who settled in Natchez in the late 1700s. He ended up fighting off an American assault during the Revolutionary War. A couple years later, after the Spanish had captured Natchez, he recaptured the city using an army of British loyalists and Choctaw warriors.

Communication faculty spotlights Natchez in new ‘Hidden History’ publication

A fourth book in the Mississippi “Hidden History” series has been published by a Mississippi State faculty member and journalism advisor. Joshua K. Foreman, an instructor in MSU’s communication department and advisor to The Reflector student newspaper, has released “Hidden History of Natchez,” co-written with Ryan Starrett—a fellow Jackson native and Foreman’s childhood friend.
